Jones hits 20 gallons on blood donation chart
LANSING—State Sen. Rick Jones kicked off Red Cross Month with a blood donation.
This will be Jones’ 160th time giving blood, which means he has donated 20 gallons of blood
“I am blessed with good health and happy that I am able to donate blood,” said Jones, R-Grand Ledge. “Donating blood is a fast, easy and relatively painless way to help save lives.”
March was first proclaimed Red Cross Month by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1943 during World War II. Since that time, every president has designated March as Red Cross Month. The organization has been helping people for more than 130 years.
